Abstract

In this paper, we study the smoothness, tangent spaces, structure and homology groups of various “nested” Hilbert schemes parametrizing nests Z₁ ⊂ Z₂ ⊂… ⊂ Z_m of zero-dimensional subschemes on smooth quasiprojective varieties.
